Automatic attack when not in combat mode
« on: August 28, 2012, 03:36:16 pm »
One of the first things I noticed is that if you're not in combat mode, and you select something attackable, the character will immediately begin attacking the target repeatedly until some other target is clicked.  No big deal for melee attacks, but with a gun, you will automatically burn all your ammo until the gun is emptied.

Since resource management is important, it's painful to watch your character burn an entire clip and not have an obvious way to abort the shootfest.  This happened for the first time in target shooting, but also happened when I just clicked on some rocks in the cave level.  This seems likely to be alarming and frustrating to people.

This seems like a bad default behavior... I would expect to only shoot or attack ONCE, even if I'm not in combat mode.

Yeah, I'll change it to fire only once. This sort of behavior is something that was carried over from time before the game had turn-based combat at all.
