Traps
« on: May 25, 2013, 12:50:04 pm »
I put 55 points into traps so that I could disarm them. I was expecting the mine to be added to my inventory in all honesty or at least retrieve some of the parts.

I'm suggesting the following in regards to traps.

- The disarmed trap should be added to your inventory or you should be able to retrieve some of the parts.
- Traps would be more viable as a weapon of choice if you could move over your own traps without setting them off. Perhaps allowing you to traverse your own traps while in stealth mode.....
- Another nice addition to traps might be to give the player the ability to plant an explosive on a target while pickpocketing them. The success would be determined by your pickpocket skill but would allow you to kill someone without surrounding NPC's knowing the player was responsible.

I thought disarmed traps do get added to your inventory (as the full item).

Are you using the full version? Has this feature been changed since the previous update?

Also agree about planting a bomb with pickpocketing, best Fallout attack method ever.

Just checked and you 100% do not receive the disarmed trap unless it was a trap you set down yourself.

This might actually be a bug then.

If your disarm skill is 20 points above the trap disarming difficulty (or if the trap is your own) you should receive it.

Ah so it could well be that my skill is not quite high enough to receive the trap. Thanks for the reply Styg.

If you get around to testing it, let me know if it works (I remember testing it vaguely way back when implementing it).

You can't actually see the difficulty modifier of the trap, but just leave one trap alive till you finish the game and then go back and disarm it when you're very higher level and see if it works.

Cheers.

Is there currently any way to respec a character?

Ok. I'll make a new character at some point and test it out.

As per the previous build you definitely get a mine back, my character had very high traps and stealth skills.

But if I get a chance I'll test it on the latest build also.
