Sounds like a bug to me. Are you sure no one else is initiating combat, like a turret or a left-over raider in the base? In any case, the most useful option would be to send us your saved game, so that we can see exactly what's going on. Saves can be found under C:\Users\[User name]\Documents\My Games\Underrail\Saves. You can upload it to Google/One Drive, Dropbox or any other cloud service of your liking and post the link here. If you can replicate that other bug you posted, the dialog/combat one, then a save of that would be useful as well (maybe they're even related).

Does it happen every time you approach them, or was it a one-off? If latter, then that's most likely a known and rare bug that's caused by some very unfortunate timing (combat and npc dialog should never happen at the same time; however, combat *can* interrupt the player when they're using computers and such, so there's a bit of a distinction there), and sadly there's not much we can do about it at this point in time.

Seems like you can sometimes block him from exiting the locker if you time it right by opening the locker and quickly moving to the tile he's supposed to spawn at (even though that should just displace him, for some reason it doesn't happen).

I've done some changes so that this doesn't happen anymore.

Yeah, that's a rendering issue not exclusive to these doors, but here's it's quite noticeable due to the way the npcs stack between them. Don't expect a fix soon.
