That's one of the early access games I do not want to spoil for me. Although it's really hard to wait until it's finished ... REALLY HARD! But ... I must resist! I have to resist! No other choice!

Concentrated builds are always strong, specialization in one area gives you superiority in this area. What else did you expect?

Money is not really an issue, tbh. You can make so much out of ammunition you don't neet, or weapons. It just requires quite some traveling and often, when you returned from your journey from A to B to C to D back to A, then the vendor will want even more new stuff. It's a bit grindy, but hey, money never comes easy.

It's not that rare, just happens mostly if playing longer than an hour. I'm pretty sure this is on the list somewhere.
Only an hour? Strange. What operating system are you running and how much RAM do you have?

If you have a 64-bit operating system and plenty of RAM (>4 GB), you can patch your Underrail.exe (or any other 32-bit exe) using this tool http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php to allow it to use up to 4 GB instead of 2 GB.

Thanks. I'll try that. I got Win 8.1 64bit, 8GB System RAM, so memory should not be an issue at all.

Well, most of my transition errors I get when playing for more than an hour constantly are this type:

Code: [Select]
System.Exception: Failed to save game 'autosave'. Exception: System.OutOfMemoryException
System.Exception: Failed to load locale 'RC1 - Rail Crossing'. ---> System.OutOfMemoryException
System.Exception: Failed to load locale 'RKL1 - Rathound King Lair'. ---> System.OutOfMemoryException
System.Exception: Failed to load locale 'ForlornStations3 - South Gate Outposts'. ---> System.OutOfMemoryException
System.Exception: Failed to load locale 'jy2 - Junkyard'. ---> System.OutOfMemoryException

It's not that rare, just happens mostly if playing longer than an hour. I'm pretty sure this is on the list somewhere.

Sidenote for the forum admin: If you use alt-0149 to create a large dot as first character the whole post is not saved AFTER that character.

A great time-saver!

I knew you could drop lockpicks, dog crates, skills, etc - onto the quick bar but I wasn't even aware this was possible!

I've been going through the inventory every time =\

You can even set actions for certain items. Like the OmniTool, you can put it twice in the quickslots, one with action assigned: "open vent" and one with "close vent". Or cange it on the fly. There's quite some power in the UI.

You could hit lvl 20 by finishing everything, as already in earlier version, in Railroad Crossings.

Well, there should be a cap on skills, like 100, but no level-cap. So you can finally make a char that is good in crafting AND can survive, without having to exploit every enemy weakness and AI weakness in every fight.

I was a bit stunned as I suddenly was confronted with a level 20 enemy (Faceless) on Railroad-Crossing while being level 15. Though of course, it was not a problem since it's a full combat/Psi char (which had the luck to get a 410 EnergyShield) , but as a crafty one ... going there the first time and not knowing the other way around, might be problematic. Sure, lots of other areas to visit first, but ... well.

Regarding carry-capacity: You do not need to carry everything with you. Keep the stuff where it is. Just take the weapons and armor and maybe some of the expensive parts for weapon/armor. I'm always amused when people carry 20+ hearts around and moan about 'I can't carry anymore!'. Well, one heart is 2.5 ... that's a lot.

I'm doing pretty fine with my 3 strength char (which is 4 now), and I may put him to 5 on the next level up. So, with item-buffs and +str items I could, if in need, haul a lot of things.

Other Games / Re: Wasteland 2

Thing is, Wasteland 2 IS a slow paced game. It will take you several hours to 'get' somewhere, that's how it's made.

Maybe you never played them, but Wizardry 6 and 7 were games where you didn't achieve anything in a short time, because of: you often had encounters that took like 40+ minutes. Was very entertaining, though it was very simple and not really tactics involved.

I like the slowness on Wasteland 2. If you play on highest difficulty you will be engaged in combat for a long time, going full tactic to not get hit that much. It's like the old 'Soldiers of Anarchy', good memories!

First and last game I played was 'The Lost Vikings'. Anything that followed did not really catch my attention.
