Bugs / Single bullet loading.
« on: October 13, 2014, 03:49:44 pm »
This is not really bug, but might mess with the player expectations.

The last bullet in the bottom of the magazine is the first being shot.
Since we can load single bullets one by one and there are three types of ammo this can lead to less than perfect scenarios.

The 1st one and least important is that while you are loading your gun, bullet by bullet, you have to be aware that the first being loaded into the magazine is the first one to go. This is not much of an issue because although it doesn't work like it does in real life, you just have to get used to it and ignore it completely.

The 2nd one is that you can't make the most of the single bullet loading in the middle of a battle.
Imagine this. You have a smg loaded with 15 W2C Rounds, which is great because you are shooting a Plasma Sentry.
Then comes a squishy target like a alpha rathound, and you want to take it first, because you know that the Plasma Sentry is going to last longer.
What can you do?
  • You can shoot some w2c rounds on the rathound, but they would be a waste since their efficiency would be lost on the squishy body of the rathound.
  • You can reload the smg with a whole jhp clip. It would give you an edge against the rathound but now you are less effective against the Plasma Sentry. You could reload again back to w2c rounds but this would mean that you would waste 30 ap just in reloads
  • You could just add one jhp bullet to your magazine. This way you get one shot of doing some nice damage to your organic target, thanks to the jhp bonus, and still keep your magazine with enough w2c bullets for the Plasma Sentry
Right now the single bullet loading is great to create versatile magazines, but if fixed it could become a last minute tool allowing to you adjust to a new target in the fly.
What do you think?

Bugs / Show help interface.
« on: January 12, 2014, 07:04:27 pm »
If you shut down the window of the help interface with your mouse, instead of using the 'Esc' key, none of the keyboard quick-keys will work.
The solution is to re-open the window with your mouse and closing it again, but this time with 'Esc'.

Its a very small detail, but i thought it was worth mentioning.

Bugs / Is the conditioning feat working properly?
« on: January 11, 2014, 03:15:02 pm »
I picked conditioning and i have 7 of constitution. This will result, if i am not mistaken, in an extra 12% res to mechanical, heat and cold damage.
But when i check my defense at the combat stats window, it displays no such benefits.

General / Tranquility + Force Emissions
« on: September 25, 2013, 11:04:16 pm »
The Tranquility feat doesn't alter the psy cost of the attacks made with the Force Wave.
I don't know if this is working as intended, but i kinda expected this to happened.
It just felt too good to be true.  :P

Edit: On a related note Lightning Punches doesn't have any effect with "unarmed weapons".
It is still great to combo with Force Waves, but doesn't look so appealing anymore.  :'(

Bugs / GMS: junkpile accessible through a wall.
« on: September 24, 2013, 09:28:32 pm »
At the level 3 GMS compound, there is a small room (secured area). Inside you can access a junkpile, even though it rests outside of the room near the wall.

Its nothing much, but i still thought i should let you know.

Suggestions / A Hotkey to switch between equipped weapons.
« on: July 29, 2013, 09:01:09 pm »
Sometimes i miss a hotkey to switch between the two weapons you can equip simultaneously.
Fallout had the 'b' key to switch between equipped item, and its a small luxury that i miss.

Styg if you could add this i would be very thankful.  :)

General / Junkyard Surprise
« on: May 12, 2013, 05:40:10 pm »
I am not sure if this is a bug. Maybe it is working as intended.
The junkyard surprise meal remains after being used unlike the other meals of the game.
The only issue i have with this is that it made the snooping perk quite irrelevant to me... :P

Edit: Ops i was almost sure i was at the Bugs forum...

Bugs / Door bug
« on: March 25, 2013, 01:12:34 pm »
Sometimes i get stuck between an open door and an enemy being impossible to reach him with melee.
I can still retreat though.

It doesn't happen much, but it happened to me today on the Kohlmeier's lucky knife quest. I infiltrated his former house through the passage infested with rathounds and once i opened the door Vilmer blocked me out of melee range. It happens every time. :(

General / Fists + Force Emissions
« on: February 08, 2013, 12:30:53 am »
Hi,

I have been messing around with some melee builds and thought of doing a character that uses manly his fists.

So far seems doable with Force Emission but its somewhat psi expensive. To manage the costs i went for the shroomhead perk and been crafting my own psi boosters.
Opportunistic combined with telekinetic punch and dirty has helped me get as far as the junkyard.
I am going to try to make it to the end of the demo with this build.

Have any of you done anything similar?

General / Bought it, loved it.
« on: January 18, 2013, 11:18:25 pm »
Hi,
I bought the game this week and i feel like it was already worth it.
I like the way you cant exploit opening combat + stealth like you could with the good old fallout series.
If you get near the enemy even at your turn, he will still spot you.

I like the feats but i am not sure if i getting a feat each turn is too much.
So far i am liking it, but i am afraid i will run out of feats to pick in later levels.
Then again you could have done this to get more feedback.

I like the setting, it feels fresh. Your writing is very enjoyable, each character i met feels unique.

Keep up the good work, i like where you are heading. You are very talented and i shall spread the word
about your Underail.
