Based on your sound advice I made this keyboard diagram. Let me know if I missed anything.

"Do you want to become a councilor..."

should be

"Do you want to become a councillor..."

So, why isn't it working for me? I have all the items. I have installed the red AI. I tried leaving the items laying around in different locations. The robot doesn't acknowledge I have everything.

[edit]

Anyway, I did as reinhark suggested and this time it worked.

Quote from: wiki
TG-44HD Service Manual is a plot item in Deep Caverns, found on a locker near a second ruined gate mechanism.

Which second gate is the wiki referring to?

I think you have to interact directly with the door thing while holding the parts.

Speaking of which... Did you read the door mechanism manual?(I think it was in the lab name started with "titan" or something)

I didn't realize I needed the manual even if the repair bot is the one doing the fixing.

I believe I have collected all the necessary items. I have installed the red AI core in the repair bot.

What do I do next? I have tried placing the items in the canister, as well as laying them on the ground near the access panel. But nothing happens. Thanks.

General / Re: Lost in the Deep Caverns, where to go? (Spoilers)

I'm trying to "climb through" the pulsating root in order to return to the turret map. However, the game says I cannot interact with the object during combat. Do I have to defeat everyone before I can get out? That will be a losing battle I fear.

Does the map correctly indicate which map is the Mushroom Forest?

How do I get between the two areas marked with the red arrow? I see no stairs or anything leading up or down. Thanks!

I can't get out of this building!

I am stuck in combat, and can't climb over the rocks to get out.

All the enemy burrowers are outside the building, so I can't attack them either.

Yes, in the dialogues.

No, it does not make sense.

This quest is too ambiguous. The instructions say to "incapacitate" it. But that is easy to do right away with a stun grenade or melee weapon. What is not mentioned is that you IN ADDITION have to damage it a certain amount until its health reaches a certain level and it becomes dormant. This is not obvious, since no other critters in the game behave in this way.

Also, the Neural Pacifier is frustrating because you can not right click on it to use it, like a battery or food or lockpick. You cannot equip it either. Again, you have one object that behaves like no other in the entire game. There is no way to logically infer based on past experience how to handle this situation. I had to resort to looking it up in the wiki, which pisses me off.

This should instead read "20 sided polyhedron" shouldn't it?

Okay thanks.

I didn't realize you could assassinate the leader and the rest would then go home.

I think this quest needs an additional alternate resolution. Currently, I cannot persuade the renegades to return to Fort Apogee. And I don't want to slaughter them all. The quest is simply sitting in my log uncompleted.

Earlier in the dialogue the player character considers assassinating the leader so that the rest return. Maybe this could be one of the alternate solutions?
