Title: What games are you playing?
Post by: Moogle on August 18, 2012, 09:28:58 am
While waiting on many games to be released. What games are you playing while waiting on them to come out. Well for myself is the following games.

- Zenoclash
- Borderlands
- The First Templar
- Rage
- Legends of Pegasus
- Avencast
- Awesomenauts

and some others. So which games are you currently playing?

Mostly indie games, and a few older AAA titles:

- Starfarer
- Path of Exile
- Torchlight (waiting for the 2nd one)
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
- Braid (from time to time, to indulge myself in the music and art)
- Machinarium (finished it many times)
- Botanicula (in the middle of it)

I love RPGs. And I love post-apocalyptic themes.

Glad to see some people are playing RAGE, Two Worlds and Men of War. All great games IMO :D

I'm currently playing Dark Souls on the PC, painful but enjoyable experience. Still working my way through Metro 2033 at the moment as well. Sleeping Dogs will be played after Dark Souls. Before that I did play through Blades of Time which was great fun, good combat/adventure style game.

haha are you still playing morrowind? I remember when I started that, the walking speed is *maddeningly* slow. I don't know what the developers were thinking with that.  If you play as a breton, and find the boots of blinding speed, then you can dramatically increase speed but resist the blinding effect by 50%. I just turned up the brightness on my monitor a bit to compensate :P.

To be honest it isn't really that great of an RPG, Bethesda knows how to make big open game worlds, but it lacks any real depth or quality (except for a few quests).  Still a heck of a lot better than Oblivion, and slightly better than Skyrim IMO.

- - -

Anyway Team Fortress 2 is always fun for me. I finished the Witcher: Enhanced Edition (which was a fairly decent game), and if my computer doesn't crash on me due to its crapiness, I will play a little Planetside 2 or Natural Selection 2 (on Steam). Also just finished Metro 2033 which was pretty good, and a fair challenge on the "hardest" difficulty - although some say it can be a bit easier for certain players so I'm not sure anymore.

Hehe, I only play standard these days. Don't really have time to invest playing the races to win anything worth while (though it's still fun to play one now and again anyway). Very interested to see what changes they'll make to the game balance-wise once the temp leagues are done.

Btw, did Terraria receive a massive patch or something? There's a lot of interest in it again, it seems.

SotS: The Pit Mindgames, Enclave, Divine Divinity series, Diablo 3, and Starfleet Command (the first one, I admit to being a trekkie at heart).

I rarely/never play the races, just the ladders that reset, always fun when even shit is useful and the economy changes quite a lot. Nice to know they will have some leagues that reset each 4 months.

Terraria got really big content patch, doubled items (mostly because ores, your world can have new ores that more or less almost equal, platinum instead of gold and you get new different looking set with almost same stats), 4 new bosses and much better magic playability from start to end.

I am playing nothing else but the Mass Effect franchise. I have never experienced a universe as it. The only sad thing is that real life is so boring and we're still stuck on this damn planet. Dibs on the first shuttle to the Citadel/Palaven/Thessia.. Some place with aliens!

I've been playing Farming Simulator 19 for a while. Epic Games was giving it out 2 months ago or something and I got the game just because it was free but I got addicted to the game quickly :) I was expecting it to be boring and never thought it would be so fun to deal with farm business. However, seems like it's very relaxing to plow your field while listening to the radio. My father is planning to buy a property in Berlin (https://tranio.com/germany/berlin/) start a husbandry business soon so I guess I could get an internship there  :D

Destiny and far too much of it.

You know, at first I read it unambiguously and only then I realized that it was a game)) I like the concept of destiny but I got carried away with more real things now. What are you thinking about applying numerology to lift your doubts (https://www.sunsigns.org/angel-number-1133-meaning/)? This is more fun than any video game because you get the opportunity to control your own destiny. You can read about what angel numbers are if you want to check my words.

I played through Divinity Original Sin 2 about a year ago but never touched the first one. Decided to give it a go and I haven't even left the starting area and I've already encountered a broken quest. Cool.

Been absolutely sinking time into Noita. I played it in beta around a year ago and the 1.0 just came out recently.
It's an absolutely FANTASTIC little side-scrolling magician rogue-like.
It's fairly accesible and has a ton of depth. The physics are goddamn endless fun.

You basically make your own wand as you make your way down to the unknown.
None of that harry potter swish and flick bollocks,
the spells you get to mess around with actually pack a punch or seriously impact your environment.
Great visuals, soundtrack is very atmospheric and the gameplay slaps hard. Just masterfully done on all fronts.
You'll be hooked for sure after a few decent runs. There's also a few decent letsplays of this bad boy if you want to test the waters. I torrented my first copy and absolutely had to throw the 15 bucks at the devs after 50 or 60 hours.
NOITA! Why aren't you playing it nerd?
