Title: Tales of Maj'Eyal Released on Desura
Post by: Styg on February 16, 2013, 12:37:56 pm
It's a kick ass cross between a standard RPG and a roguelike. Tons of different classes, skills and spells.

You can also download the free version from their site: http://te4.org/ (http://te4.org/)

I remember playing this a few years ago (the free version), I thought it  was a pretty cool game but the visuals and feedback was least to say clumsy and unimpressive, is this new release any different from the old ones?

There are a couple of visual improvements as far as I can tell, like smoother movement.

Personally, I think it has a nice presentation. Everything you equip is visible on your character and spell effects look nice.

Ah, I saw that they've got out of beta (or whatever they call it) few weeks ago. It is quite interesting game, truth to be told.

If I remember correctly on their site people can play a bit cut down version which has unlockable things inside - if you donate (a class or two? more place in chest for another characters... or something like that) or just buy everything on Desura, right?

I've gone a bit in earlier versions... Like I've got this !SPOILER! fancy house under water, which really looks nice and gives people a place to return !SPOILER!

So yeah. As long as they keep adding stuff (and I think they were talking about adding more campaigns) it's well worth 9 euro.
