Title: After the Armadillo [SPOILERS]
Post by: BlackGyver on December 12, 2012, 10:45:20 am
Well, I finally completed the mutant zone, brought back the Armadillo and I'm told that they don't need me for the moment and that I should get some rest. Is this where the Alpha ends or did I miss something ?

Any information welcomed.

That's the end of main quest for now.

I haven't completed the alpha just yet (I have that thing where you create new characters all the time, but never finish it with any of them) but I'm wondering, how much will be added for each update? Like do you have a specific number of areas or milestones in the main quest? I might come across as asking a lot of questions (I get that from time to time, Sorry!) but I'm just curious. :P

The last update did a couple of tweaks (under the last dev log post, number 9 I think) and from the sound of it there will be new main quest content following the new year.

No new quests in the next release. It will be mostly focused on crafting (new items and blueprints).

You can always free Yunkyard from unwanted opression in the mean time :)

It is customary at the end of each playthrough to go on a murderous rampage. ;)

I did that, ended up reaching level 15. Wold go up at least once more, but those bastards at SGS won't let a murdering psycho, who just wants to slaughter them  and eat their entrails, in.
That's just plain rude.

Seriously though I think I shouldn't have killed that fisherman past the sentry.

Yeah, they become hostile if you kill that Mordre sonofabitch.
I have not been able to intimidate him even with Intimidation skill =147.

He was a tough bastard though. Took a 300hp shot to the face and lived.

And that old guy at Depot A? Immune to mechanical damage, was unfazed after a 500hp crit.

Well, it isn't a problem for psionic guy. Neural Overload, Cryostasis than Telekinetic Punch.

With hipothermia perk and stacked cryokinesis/stasis, You can also drop enemy max hp to the point, any critial will do the job.

I killed the old guy at depot A, after a looong time shooting him with my marauder rifle. He eventually ran out of hypos and slowly died. I managed to kill him by doing the open door - shoot- close door tactic with his dogs piled up at the front, preventing the old man from opening the door. Its kind of unfortunate though, he didn't have much of value. He should have something awesome for being the toughest person to beat one-on-one in the game, assuming you don't use my cheap tactics
